Kenneth Mac Evans

KENNETH MAC EVANS age 83 of Harriman, TN passed away February 23, 2010 at Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville. He was born in Lick Skillet, TN on March 19, 1926 and spent the majority of his life in Roane County.
Mac was preceded in death by his parents John “Will” and Margaret “Ethel” Evans, his sister Ann and his brothers Leslie Oscar and Bill Evans. He is survived by his wife Patsy, his sons Kenneth Jr, Jeffrey, John and Joel, his step daughter Cynthia Clack and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
During his early years Mac farmed, hauled logs and worked as a Rockwood City Policeman. When he was 20 years old he volunteered for the US Army. He had distinguished service both in Japan during WWII and in Korea. When he left the service he worked with Norris Creamery in Harriman for 18 years and Coca Cola Bottling in Rockwood for 18 years. In 1988 he retired and enjoyed his time pursuing wood working and other hobbies.
Family will receive friends on Friday, 26 February at Kyker Funeral Home in Harriman, TN from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
Service will be on Saturday, 27 February at Kyker Funeral Home at 10:30 AM with Reverend Mary Margaret Eckhardt (beloved niece). Music will be provided by David and Steve Evans (beloved nephews).
Interment will be at the Bowers/Evans Cemetary in Caney Ford on 27 Feb at 12:00.
