Rev. D.L. Gabrel

Rev. D.L. Gabrel, age 91, of Sweetwater passed away on Sunday January 31, 2010 at Sweetwater Hospital.  He was of the Church of GOD faith and attended the Out Post Mission Church of Sweetwater.  Retired from Pedigo Lumber Co. in Sweetwater, also he served as a volunteer at Sweetwater Hospital Association for many years.  Preceded in death by his parents: Mart and Bertie Gabrel, 3 brothers, 4 sisters, and his loving wife of 72 years: Georgia Mae Gabrel.  Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law: Barbara and Clinton Cooper, of Sweetwater, Helen and Jerry Halterman, of Lenoir City,  sons and daughters-in-law: David and Jeannie Gabrel, Edward and Sarah Gabrel all of Indiana, Randy Gabrel, of Sweetwater.  19 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren.  Sisters: Helen Carroll, of Athens, Reba Willett, of Sweetwater, brothers: Lynn Gable, of Niota, Gillie Gable, of Washington State.  Several nieces and nephews.  The body is at Kyker Funeral Home, Sweetwater, where the family will receive friends on Thursday February 4, 2010, from 6:00P.M. until 8:00P.M. with the funeral service to follow at 8:00P.M. in Kyker’s Chapel with Rev. Blanche Settles and Randy Gabrel officiating.  Interment 11:00A.M. Friday in the Sweetwater Memorial Park.
