Clifford D. Hardy, Sr.

Clifford D. Hardy, Sr. age 85 of Sweetwater, departed this life Thursday, January 14, 2010. He was a resident of Woods Village, Sweetwater, TN.  He accepted Christ at an early age and served as an elder and member at Lanes Chapel and Oak Grove Churches.  An honorable veteran of the U.S. Army, he earned the rank of sergeant and numerous medals of honor.  Survivors include three sons: Clifford Hardy Jr., Dayton, OH, Joe Hardy, Sweetwater, Larry Hardy, Madisonville, two daughters: Emma Ellison, of Cleveland, TN,  Madeleine Thornton and Willie, of Milwaukee, WI, seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.  Visitation will be on Sunday, January 17, 2010 from 6:00P.M. until 7:00P.M. with the funeral service to follow at 7:00P.M. in Kyker’s Chapel with Rev. Ivey Smith officiating. Interment 11:00A.M. Monday in the Sweetwater Memorial Park.
